This valve will automatically release pressure if the pop-off valve is accidentally left closed to help avoid severe injury or death of a healthy animal. No Veterinary clinic should be without a safegaurd in place in case the pop-off valve is left closed. We think this is the best option available and by far the most affordable. We know of no other product that is made to attach to the anesthesia circuit and release excess pressure. If you choose not to use this kit we strongly recommend either a high pressure alarm or a pop-off valve restrictor which is a spring loaded button that is pushed down to bag the animal and automatically pops back up when released. Neither are foolproof and neither actually release pressure if it builds too high but both can save lives.
